Winter

Winter here is long, almost half the year, white and cold, at the same time, fun and beautiful. I can't tell how I feel about it. Sometimes I love it, but sometimes I hate it.

You wonder why people hate winter?
Yes! they were cars parking on road.

And you wonder why people love winter?

You wonder why people hate snow?
It was our driveway after a snow storm.

Our Kitchen door

And you wonder why people love snow? The last rose in my back yard, it was beautiful, isn't it?

I love your views on the snow and winter. I feel exactly the way you do. I love the snow and would love to move back up north. I lived in Michigan when I was a child. I went back awhile ago and fell in love with the first snowfall, snow angels and all that stuff all over again. I'm a kid at heart.
I guess, I need to find things about Florida the way you did about the winter.
You gave me inspiration....Thank you!
I love to crochet, knit, sew, embroider, do counted-cross stitch, plastic canvas. It is great to see someone with some similar interests.
Nice to meet you!

Nice to know people out there have the same feeling. I grew up in warm southern, I used to say it's freezing when the temperature drop around 40F, and now we say spring's coming given the same temperature.:) The first time I saw snow, I was so exited couldn't sleep, I mean real, good snow, covering everything white, not just some scattered snow flakes.
BTW, I always want to learn crochet. :)

Crocheting is my therapy, it keeps me sane. In Florida the people complain its too cold when its in the lower 70's. The silly thing is they keep their air conditioner in the lower 70's all summer! LMAO!

Velvet bucket bag

The past three months I was not very productive. After all winter is time for all to go dormant, I believe and wish. It is for my mother, that means 200% effort being given. The whole process took my some time,  designing, drawing paper pattern, making a prototype, revising pattern, choosing fabric, and finally sewing. And forgot to mention the time spending on hunting small parts:single square loops, adjustable strap ladder and grommets. First I searched online, so many products out there, it's hard for me to pick since I've never used them before. Luckily, a local store has what I need, I took my half-done project there to pick those looking good on it. This bag was made of  heavy velvet and vinyl. A extra bag organizer, made of 5mm felt. I tried it, quite useful, it keeps everything in place, water bottle, glasses, wallet, cellphone. etc. no need to dig any more. I'll make one for myself later, when?maybe when the spring comes, just joking.
